Some companies don’t recommend putting dirty fingerprints all over a beautiful display. MMD is willing to make an exception with its new Philips Commercial Signage and Philips Monitors. In fact, they are encouraging it.
MMD is the exclusive licensee for Philips Commercial Signage and Philips Monitors worldwide, and the company has just launched a full line of touch monitors for the North American market.
The new Philips Touch Series will include a total of 10 different products, in sizes ranging from 32 to 65 inches. According to MMD, each model is built to deliver 24/7 commercial-grade reliability.
Five models are part of the series with the Optical Sensing Dual Camera. Perfect for point-of-sale digital signage, this allows for two touch points simultaneously. Optical Sensing models include the 32-inch BDL3245DT/27 Dual-Touch HD LCD Display, the 42-inch BDL4245DT/27 Dual-Touch HD LCD Display with OPS, the 46-inch BDL4645DT/27 Dual-Touch HD LCD Display with OPS, the 55-inch BDL5545DT/27 Dual-Touch HD LCD Display with OPS, and the 55-inch BDL5571DT/27 Dual-Touch HD LCD Display.
The remaining five models will have Infrared Sensing Multi-Touch technology. Ideal for large screen digital signage implementations, this allows for multiple touch points simultaneously. Infrared Sensing models include the 42-inch BDL4245AT/27 Multi-Touch HD LCD Display with OPS, the 46-inch BDL4645AT/27 Multi-Touch HD LCD Display with OPS, the 55-inch BDL5545AT/27 Multi-Touch HD LCD Display with OPS, the 55-inch BDL5530AT/27 Multi-Touch HD LED Display, and the 65-inch BDL6531AT/27 Multi-Touch HD LCD Display.
Both of the above technologies are embedded in the display. No upgrades or component changes are necessary. Besides smaller applications, MMD says that the Philips Touch Series is capable of larger digital signage displays—up to 92 inches for video wall and table-touch configurations.
Other features on the Philips Touch Series include a full 1920x1080 HD resolution, RS-232, and Intel’s Open Pluggable Specification (OPS).
“Large format touch has truly entered the main stream with respect to digital signage configurations, almost everything we work on today has a component of interactivity, we felt the time was right to offer our customer base a full line of touch enabled surfaces to author on,” says Craig Rathbun, the sales and marketing director for MMD. “With the new Philips Touch Series we are ready for the future.”
MMD will make the Philips Touch Series available through its business partners starting in June 2012. MMD also plans to showcase the Philips Touch Series at InfoComm 2012 from June 13 to 15 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, in booth number C5853.
